We appreciate your interest in the business school of the High North!
Bodø Graduate School of Business (HHB) is one of three business schools in Norway. We specialize in the areas of business, research, post-school training and business development. We are located in the northern part of Norway. Today, HHB has approximately 80 academic positions and roughly 1000 students distributed across bachelors, masters, and Ph.D programs. We cooperate with many partners internationally and we have joint MSc-degrees with several universities abroad.
Businesses and public administration organizations face a global world which is marked by great challenges. These global challenges lead to intense competition in both domestic and international markets. As such, businesses, managers and employees must learn innovation skills in order to endure competitive markets. To meet these challenges HHB emphasizes innovation and entrepreneurship in an effort to rethink the typical business model. As a result, our business school is a leader in innovation in terms of our program offerings and research efforts.
At the bachelor level, students are educated in many areas of business, including entrepreneurship to give them the skills necessary start their own businesses. We think it is important to integrate various areas of study to address the turbulent markets present in our global economy. Accordingly we offer integrated courses and research projects to directly address these challenges. A variety of scientific methods are necessary for rethinking business practices, so we urge students, researchers and managers to be creative in their analytical efforts. We also believe that businesses as well as students should be familiar with alternative perspectives in addition to those presented by mainstream literature. As such, we emphasize the following topics: ecological economy, management control for the new economy, sustainable management, business ethics and philosophy, and innovation management.
Bodø Graduate School of Business has started several international business programs. For those who want a flexible program, we offer MBA and MSc programs where student are able to choose their specialization. We also offer executive MBA programs abroad. Our High North Centre for Business has expertise in High North challenges and has 15 years of experience in Russia and other high north countries. Presently we educate managers of the Russian oil company Rosneft in cooperation with MGIMO University in Moscow. The cooperation between several universities including universities in Russia and USA enable HHB to offer more specialized programs. A degree in MSc Energy Management and MSc Sustainable Management are examples of the specialized programs we offer here at HHB. These specialized programs are designed to directly reflect the challenges we face both in the high north as well as abroad.
I warmly welcome you to contact our enthusiastic team at the business school!
